Excerpt - Twitch live stream - 2022 - 45 minutes

The video is an excerpt from the New Models Collective Avatar Creation stream. In the stream, Moving Castles experimented with the traditional gaming trope of the character creator by recontextualizing it into a multiplayer chat experience and live stream format. Players were able to input commands through the Twitch chat, which would change the appearance of the created avatar. Everyone could freely decide to change a piece or move the camera around, but only through organization and coordination of their inputs could they lock one piece in place and move to the next.

The video highlights the challenges that arise when hundreds of players attempt to interact with a single interface. It raises the question of what governance tools are necessary to develop for these novel types of collective gaming experiences .

The excerpt is followed by a cinematic cut of the avatar created with a commentary by Carly Busta and Lil Internet (New Models) and Arthur Röing Baer (Trust).
